Message from the Coach
Dear New York Knights players:
We are already in 2007 and I am very proud to be the New York Knights Head Coach for the upcoming season. First, I would like to thank Matty Astill for his friendly guidance and great partnership during my first year within the U.S. Rugby League world.
As a coach in 2007, my goal is to see our team performing successfully on the field, but moreover for every single one of you to enjoy themselves playing this great game. This year and in the coming seasons the plan is to concentrate the team and my efforts on local players because this is the only way moving forward for Rugby League to make a durable impact in this country.
Another priority will be for me to cement commitment and solidarity within the team's members and to make sure that no individual will prevail upon the group's common interest. From my perspective, a great team spirit is even more important than any kind of individual skills.
Finally, you all know that this game is very demanding, therefore, in order to enjoy it 100% I will ask all of you to work your best at practice, just as I will work hard to implement entertaining training sessions and fair leadership.
Guys, I believe the Knights have a great potential and I am really looking forward to working with all of you in 2007.
