Knights begin Charge for 2009 Championship!
April 28, 2009
The New York Knights kicked off the 2009 Season last night with their first official team training session at the “Castle” at Pier 40. Training was hard and fast and but many of the Knights looked like they were in good pre-season shape. Head Coach Guill Cieutat had created an intense off-season training regimen that most of the team followed during the break. While you could still hear the occasional “moans and groans” from the players most look to be good form.
Viewing the first practice from the bleachers, team President and CEO, Robert Balachandran had this to say about the upcoming season "This is our 9th season as a club in the AMNRL, and I am more hopeful then ever that this will be the year that the Knights bring the Cup back to New York!" It has been several years since the Knights won the championship back in 2001, and after a few bad years, almost missing the play-offs, the Knights look poised to regain their greatness. "Guill has had two years with the boys and I am happy the way his system is going. It takes time to build a sustainable system but I am confident that we are getting even closer towards cracking the code of success!"
