The New York Knights received word from the League today that due to player injuries on the Fairfax Eagles squad, they have dropped out of the playoffs. As a result the Knights game between the Philadelphia Fight scheduled for this Saturday night at the Castle has been canceled.
Due to their second place finish, the Knights will receive a bye for the first round of playoffs and will now face the highest seeded winner from this weekend's first round matches between #3 New Haven vs #6 Philadelphia Fight and #4 Aston Bulls vs #5 Boston 13's, next Friday night in New York.
"This is an unfortunate situation" said Knights CEO Robert Balachandran, "We nevertheless understand the reasoning behind the League's decision and fully stand behind their directive."
