Fundraiser for Severely Injured Knights Player On April 10th at the Australian 7-10pm

Former Knight Mike “Jonsey” Jones suffered a critical “Christopher Reeve” like injury during a recent rugby union match. Jonsey, also known in rugby league circles as “The Cannon Ball” , now lays paralyzed from the neck down at the Kessler Rehabilitation center in New Jersey.

Mike who was a strong player and competitor on the field, is facing the biggest fight of his life in a battle to regain the ability to once again hold his wife and two year little girl!

“Jonsey was one of the first men to put on both the Knights and U.S.A jerseys and was one of the very first pioneers of players to cross over and play both rugby union and league!” said Knights CEO Robert Balachandran “…Jonsey was a tenacious tackler and was always known for coming up with at least one big tackle every game! He was also the first person to hold his hand out to the person who he just knocked over!”

A fundraiser in Mike’s honor will be held on Saturday April 10th at the Australian from 7-10pm
