Knights ready to tame Wildcats
Coming off their defeat at the hands of the Warriors last weekend, the New York Knights are ready to unleash their vengeance on the Connecticut Wildcats this Sunday, June 20, 1pm at Andrews Field in Norwalk (
map). The Wildcats who rested last week with the bye are also coming off a loss against the Warriors and will be sure to make things very difficult for the Knights.
At practice this week, the Knights Head Coach Guillaume Cieutat discussed a failure to, "Complete sets and gift the opposition healthy field position." Despite the disappointment of the loss, the Knights now look to repeat last year's course after the squad's sole loss to Jacksonville. Following that loss nearly a year ago to the day, the Knights went undefeated through the Grand Final under the leadership of Gareth 'The Gentleman' Baxendale and Chris 'Scary' Carey's tough defense.
Traditionally, the Wildcats had proved a tough opponent for the Knights. Their last meeting was in the 2008 AMNRL playoffs where the Wildcats handy the Knights a heavy defeat 52-18. The two teams never met in 2009, so this Sunday’s match is the first chance to Knights have to avenge their playoff loss.
Get down to Andrews Field in Norwalk this Sunday, and don’t forget to bring your Dad for Father's Day!
