The New York Knights traveled up to Newburgh, New York to face the Northern Raiders in their AMNRL season opener. Facing a much improved Raiders side, the Knights prevailed 48-0 under sweltering heat and less than ideal field conditions. After a slow start, the Knights game plan slowly took shape as the Knights shook off early season errors. As the New Yorkers settled in, the match quickly became one sided.

The New York Knights assured themselves a first round home game in the playoffs after a 22 to 22 tie this past Friday night at the Castle! While it will not go down in the record books as one of the Knights best performances, the game put the Knights in 4th place in the league table, just ahead of the Warriors. This means that the two will face off again next Friday night at the Castle in the 1st round of the single elimination play-offs.

It was a 4am start for the 6am flight to Jacksonville via Atlanta. Boys all arrived safe and sound at the airport which was a little surprising given the hour. We arrived at the hotel in Jacksonville in time for a quick team meeting, a bite of lunch and a well earned nap before heading to the University of North Florida for the big game.

The Aston Bulls defeated the New York Knights 54 - 44 before a huge crowd at The Castle. The game was a see-saw match, with both teams holding the lead. Eventually it was the Bulls who were able to pull away and hold on for victory.

Why not, they had beaten them every time the faced them before, why should this game be any different right? The New York Knights Rugby League Football Club throttled The Northern Raiders this past Saturday 38 - 4 in a scene that was reminiscent of a World War I battle. The Raider's pitch, located right next to Wallkill airport, had both planes landing and taking off as the two clubs duked it out. This combined with a turf that was mostly made up of a coarse hay like grass and a series of hills and gullies that mimicked trenches, made for an injurious and, at times, comical game.

The Connecticut Wildcats have once again retained the Deserter Cup by downing the New York Knights 38 - 30 at The Castle in New York City this past weekend. The Wildcats survived a late rally by the Knights to clinch victory and retain bragging rights in one of the AMNRL's more intense rivalries.
