Knight after Knight 2002-07-17

The biggest rumour of the 2002 league season has finally been confirmed... Beatles frontman Paul McCartney is a huge fan of League Week. That's right folks, the genius who penned "Let It Be" and "Hey Jude" reckons there's nothing better than checking up on gossip items in "The Mole" and following the form with Martin "Lenno" Lennehan's courageous weekly tips.

McCartney is pictured here enjoying a bit of New York sunshine with three members of the New York Knights league team - Rob Balachandran, "The Trinadadian Love God" (Hayden James) and "Duckarse" (Matt Astill). The trio took time out to "knight" Sir Paul - explaining Queen Elizabeth has nothing on three boys from the Bronx.

Thankfully, Duckarse wore his best Newtown Jets singlet, complete with Marrickville Metro shopping centre logo on the front. Sources say McCartney is now planning a shopping trip Down Under. Well Done boys.
