Practice Starts for Knights 2007 SeasonApril 23, 2007
Pre-Season practice has begun at the Knights outdoor training facility at
Pier 40 "The Castle". The Knights look to better their third place
finish in last year's competition with the addition of some key players.
While this off-season has been good, look for many of the Knights
players to return much fitter this pre-season. New Head Coach Guillaume
"Gill" Cieutat has implemented a difficult preseason regimen which
players have been following.
Off-season recruiting has been in full swing with the Knights signing
some major new players from other teams in the AMNRL as well as from
overseas. "Secrecy is the new order around the Knights camp" said Gill.
"With the competition improving each year, I don' want to give any tips
to any of our competitors about our recruitment this past winter!" said
Gill. When pressed, Gill did give up this bit of information, "...Look
for the Knights this year to be a blend of talented domestic players
mixed with a few highly skilled foreign players." Count on several
returning veterans to be on the 2007 squad including: Props Ryan
Mulligan and Joe Hughes, Hooker Gareth Baxendale, and center Jeremy
Kosbob.
Practice is open to all new players every Monday and Wednesday night
from 7-8:30pm at the Knights Pier 40 outdoor training facility.
