NY KNIGHTS 2009 AMNRL CHAMPIONS!

Welcome to the New York Knights Rugby League Football Club website. We hope that it keeps fans and players of Rugby League from around the world entertained and informed.

It is an exiting time for Rugby League in the USA with interest in "The Greatest Game of All" rapidly growing. With increased coverage of the game on television here in the United States, Rugby League is now being exposed to an audience that is genuinely intrigued about the sport!

Everyone is aware that New York is a melting pot of different cultures, and the New York Knights are no different. In our first full season together we had players who where born in over TEN different countries including the USA, Japan, Trinidad, China, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, England and Scotland! The diversity of our club is one of the main reasons for our success, both on and off the field.

The Knights are made up of players of with different ranges of ability; from players who have played professionally in Australia, England, or France to players who are playing the game for the very first time. It is a true testament to our Club when all players are able to work together to help each other have an enjoyable Rugby League experience.

We are also fortunate to have Australia's Newcastle Knights as our "sister" club. Over the years we have received a tremendous amount of support from the club and from the people of Newcastle! Special thanks go out to Knights Operations Manager Stephen Crowe, Former Chairman Michael Hill and Michael Tyler and to Head Coach Brian Smith for all of their efforts to ensure the Knights success here in the America!

I would also like to thank David Niu, the President of the AMNRL, for his support and enthusiasm for Rugby League here in America!
