Knights Touch All-stars Teams Announced

As part of our AMNRL Final celebrations we are having a New York Knights Touch Rugby All-Stars match.  Two highly competitive teams have been selected to battle it out in the lead up to the main game .  The Allstars will play at 8.30pm and the team lineups and player profiles are right here.  Our Summer Touch Rugby League concludes this Monday night, when five teams battle it out to win the championship.

Team Red:

Team Red is representing mainly from our Mark Bowker team.  Many players from the team are US Touch Rugby representatives and will be difficult to stop.

  1. Emily White  - Emily recently represented the USA in the Touch Rugby World Cup.  Watch out for her wide, heading for the corner to score! 
  2. Simon Smith - Simon represents the Mighty Maroons team, driving in attack and ruthless in defence.
  3. Martin Scherzinger - Martin also represented the USA in the World Cup, he is a master from dummy-half and always catches out lazy defenders.
  4. Amelia Breyre - Amelia is our top female tryscorer and is dangerous close to the line.  Also, another USA representative.
  5. Kevin Tracey - Kevin is one of our top tryscorers.  Watch for him and Martin to combine with quick try-scoring movements.
  6. Steve De Vera - Steve is one of our Knight's stars.  Watch for his speed and agility, and his ability to run into holes.  

Team Blue:

Team Blue is based around our top team, the NYRC Puppies.  They are filled with speed and agility and will use their physical prowess to win the match.

  1.  Toby Foster - Toby is the star for our Exiles team, quick thinking and able to spot opportunties.
  2. Kevin Thomas -  Kevin is an intergral part of our top team, the NYRC Puppies.  He's quick and opportunistic. 
  3. Badger Denehy - Badger is another representative from the Puppies, he can create tries for himself and his teammates.
  4. Malcolm Goonetileke - Malcolm is the top tryscorer in our league.  Fast, wily and agile, he starred for the Blackhawks in our league.
  5. Rosalie MacGowan - Rosie also represents the Puppies, quick thinking, dominate in defence and knows her way to the tryline.
  6. Aarabi Bala - Aarabi was a star for our Can't Touch This team, a surprise packet in attack and solid in defense.  

The Allstars will put on a great show for us and highlight how Touch Rugby is an easy to learn, fun game based on Rugby League and accessible to anyone who wants to play.
